        We are seeking a versatile Software Engineer (m/f) to develop and integrate software for complex maritime systems, with a strong focus on sensor and equipment integration, device communication, and edge data acquisition and processing. The role involves building modular and reusable software for deployment across different marine platforms, supporting communication through standard hardware and network interfaces, and ensuring reliable end-to-end system functionality through laboratory and field testing.

Key responsibilities:
-	Take ownership of sensor and equipment integration from initial interface definition through deployment and validation
Develop and deploy software to integrate diverse sensors and equipment in complex maritime systems (e.g., acoustic sensors, CTDs, ADCPs, LiDAR, underwater cameras, environmental monitoring sensors)
-	Ensure modular, reusable, and portable software for deployment across platforms such as underwater networks, AUVs, ASVs, and ROVs
-	Implement and maintain reliable communication between devices using standard interfaces and protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and Ethernet
-	Develop applications for edge and IoT devices, including data acquisition and processing
-	Diagnose and resolve hardware-software integration issues across sensors, communication interfaces, edge devices, and networked systems
-	Support system integration, testing, and validation in laboratory and field environments, ensuring reliable end-to-end functionality
-	Collaborate closely with electronics, mechanical, robotics, and other engineering disciplines to define interfaces and optimize system-level solutions

Uvjeti:
Candidates’ profile - Must haves: 
-	Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer/Mechatronics/Robotics Engineering, or similar)
-	Typically 5+ years of relevant professional experience, with flexibility for candidates who demonstrate substantial hands-on engineering experience
-	Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python; experience with C or similar languages is an advantage
-	Experience with prototyping and embedded or sensor hardware (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, STM32, Toradex, NXP, or similar platforms)
-	Strong working knowledge of Linux-based systems, including software deployment, configuration, networking, and troubleshooting
-	Experience in embedded or system-level software development, hardware-software integration, device interfacing, or similar engineering applications
-	Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
-	Strong communication skills in English

Preferred qualifications - Bonus points:
- Experience with ROS/ROS2 for system integration is an advantage. 
- Experience with edge IoT platforms, machine learning, or edge inference applications is also beneficial.
- B-category driver’s license
- Scuba diving certification is an additional advantage for field activities

 The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with hardware-software integration, communication protocols, embedded or edge systems, and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
