Organisational Background
Caritas Switzerland has been active in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1993. Through Locally Led Action, its programme focuses on income and social inclusion, local economic and market systems development, climate and green energy transition, and support to migrants. The portfolio of Just Green Energy Transition in Bosnia and Herzegovina empowers communities, schools, and local government units to reduce energy cost-induced poverty, cut emissions, and create green jobs.

Objective of the Role
The Project Officer supports the Project Manager to implement project activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In close coordination with local institutions and partners, the Project Officer will contribute to advancing energy efficiency, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development initiatives.
Your Duties
Key Responsibilities
• Support project implementation and daily coordination with the Project Manager.
• Conduct field visits, assessments, and prepare technical inputs.
• Monitor energy efficiency measures in public buildings.
• Prepare AutoCAD drawings, BoQs, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
• Oversee works execution and ensure compliance with contracts.
• Contribute to donor engagement, project proposals, and visibility activities.
• Organize events, trainings, and prepare reports and communication materials.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil/mechanical/electrical engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in energy efficiency, renewable energy, or climate-related projects.
• Experience with construction monitoring, BoQs, cost estimates, and donor-funded projects.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Analytical, proactive, and flexible approach.
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Experience drafting reports and proposals in English.
Language Requirements
• Excellent B/H/S language skills.
• English proficiency (minimum B2).
Other Requirements
• Familiarity with climate change, energy transition, and sustainable development frameworks.
• Willingness to travel frequently (up to 7 days consecutively).
• Valid driving license (category B).
Assets
• Knowledge of Revit, BIM, or 3D modelling software.
• Experience with M&E, social inclusion, or poverty reduction projects.
• Interest in BiH EU integration and sustainable development.
