Job Description
We are looking for an experienced accounting professional to manage and support multiple nonprofit client accounts within our global team. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with strategic thinking, exceptional accuracy, and the ability to manage complex workflows independently while partnering effectively with cross-functional teams. This role involves managing accounting processes for the U.S.-based nonprofit organizations, ensuring excellence in financial reporting, compliance, and client experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Independently manage accounting processes for multiple nonprofit clients, including data entry, reconciliations, and preparation of monthly financial reports.
• Conduct detailed financial statement reviews, ensuring full compliance with GAAP standards and organizational policies, while identifying opportunities for process and reporting improvements.
• Communicate directly with U.S.-based nonprofit clients, providing expert guidance, proactive communication, and strategic recommendations to strengthen financial transparency.
• Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and documentation needed for external reviews or audits.
• Mentor and support team members by providing technical expertise, reviewing complex client issues, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and accountability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing accounting workflows, enhancing automation tools, and standardizing best practices across client portfolios.
Skills / Qualifications
• BA or BS in Accounting/Economics (authorized international diplomas accepted).
• 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, ideally in a client-facing environment.
• Advanced understanding of accounting principles and experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Bill.com, Excel, and other MS Office applications are a plus).
• Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with proven experience collaborating directly with clients.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team; proactively communicate expectations and project status with both clients and internal teams.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and committed to high-quality work.
• Growth-oriented mindset and motivation to build a long-term career within Jitasa’s global team.
• Prior experience or volunteer engagement in the nonprofit sector is a plus.
